It's been a while since I posted here, so I thought I would just give a short update on what I'm up to. On the writing front, I'm working on a new zombie novel. The story's coming along well at the moment and I'm about a quarter of the way through writing it. My agent's had some enquiries about my other novels, so I've got my fingers crossed that something might take off, and a couple of my short stories are due to be published around now; I'll post more when that happens. Anyway, I hear the dead getting restless, so it's back to the writing.

I've been keeping an eye on your website and your work Shaun. The Zombie novel sounds great. Was this always something you wanted to do; a zombie novel?

Also, what is the hardest thing for you to write?

Hi Sancy,

I never planned to write a zombie novel, but a publisher was looking at proposals for zombie novels, so I submitted a synopsis. They liked what they read, and requested a complete chapter breakdown, character analysis and a sample chapter, so I wrote that and submitted it to them. Now I'm just waiting to hear back, but they're snowed under at the moment, so it will be another couple of months before I expect to hear anything. That hasn't stopped me working on the novel though.

As for the hardest thing for me to write, I find it all hard at times. Sometimes the words come easily, but at other times, I may as well be hitting my head against a brick wall.

Three years after my novel Evilution was published, I've revised it and resubmitted it to the publisher, taking into account the constructive reviews that I read. I'm now waiting to have it republished, having corrected some of the errors people pointed out, and after removing some of the horror cliches people said it contained.

Thanks for the interest. It's much appreciated.
